In essence, this city is the goal of the death of Hindus. So that the Ganges itself is never empty of the invasion of people who want to liberate sin.
For this reason, many charitable organizations and business groups make homestays under the name of a safe house. This is where the sick pilgrims stay and even wait for death.
Managers of this homestay provide rates for each person. This rate does not include meals. One homestay named Mukti Bhawan which means the House of Liberation.
Not like lodging in general. The lodging business in Varanasi is just a rental room without facilities. Because the purpose of only one pilgrim died.
At Mukti Bhawan, each guest can only stay for a maximum of 15 days. If until the last day, the visitor is not dead, he will be asked to leave the house politely.
But there are pilgrims who have spent months in this city. Their hope is only one, can die in Varanasi and cremate ashes in the Ganges River.
The pilgrims will be charged electricity and rent a room of 20 Rupees or around Rp. 4,073 per day. Most of the visitors will spend their time singing or worshiping gods in the temple and praying along the Ganges.
When someone dies, fellow innkeepers will usually take care of it. They cremate the body and float the ashes on the Ganges River.
Generally the parents come here. They all hope to die here with moksha.
